I've been a property owner since the early 80's. My husband, Tom, and I started playing golf in 1996 and began vacationing in Hot Springs Village.
“Golf Heaven” brought us here from St. Louis, Missouri when we retired in 2008.
All of our children and grandchildren live in St. Louis – six and a half hours away; so we return often to enjoy the six grands' birthdays (3 boys & 3 girls, who range in ages from 11 to 24). There's always something to celebrate - graduations, holidays and special occasions. They visit here every year, and our youngest son and his wife bought a home close to us, with plans to retire in 2028. We are blessed.
I'm honored to serve as president of the WGA 9-Hole League for a second term, and so excited about our 2020 plans. We have a hard-working (but fun) board, and each member loves the WGA9. When I joined the league in 2016, I knew only a few members, but soon became acquainted with almost every special lady in our league.
Fridays are my my day to enjoy nine holes, then have a beverage or lunch with the gals at the 19th hole. The friendships I've made are more important to me than the golf. These ladies especially enjoy getting to know new members and bringing them into the group.
Aside from our golfing, Tom and I work together in the Keep HSV Beautiful project with more than 200 volunteers. I serve as Clean-up Coordinator to arrange litter pick up throughout The Village, five times a year and prepare articles that are featured in The Voice to promote litter control. I've also served on the board of the Couples Golf Group for many years, and Tom and I are adopt-a-hole volunteers. We're busy and happy, living in a place we love, surrounded by people we love.
